Littering

Posted by valiant13 in Uncategorized

Littering is a very bad thing for our earth. People don’t notice that when they litter they are destroying our planet.

Some people litter on their leisure time. When people litter they influence other people to litter. If many people litter for “fun” it can harm and/ or kill wild life.

A lot of people illegally dump garbage. If this keeps happening more and more water ways will get polluted than what they are now.

People with motor vehicles drop garbage such as: gum and lit cigarettes. A lit cigarettes can be a fire hazard.

If we keep littering , our planet will be full of trash. That’s why we shouldn’t litter!

“Amelia to Zora” book review

Posted by valiant13 in Uncategorized

Frida Kahlo

Amelia Earhart    Dolores Huerta

The author of ” Amelia to Zora” is Cynthia Chin- Lee. The illustrators of             “ Amelia to Zoraare Megan Halsey and Sean Addy. Although, “Amelia to Zora” has not won any awards it’s still a fantastic book.Three of the characters in “ Amelia to Zora”are Amelia Earhart,Dolores Huerta, and Frida Kahlo.

Amelia  to Zora” is about twenty-six women who change the world, I only chose three women out of twenty-six. Amelia Earhart was the first female pilot to fly in a plane over the Atlantic Ocean.

Dolores Huerta was apart of  United Farm workers, she started a boycott against California growers of lettuce and grapes.Dolores Huerta decided that it wasn’t that she was getting treated bad, because of her help with the boycott Cesar Chavez signed the first contract for farm workers. Frida Kahlo became a famous artist. Not many woman were artist then. Frida Kahlo changed things because she became a very famous artist and not many women became artists. She kept drawing and painting she didn’t give up on what she liked. Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly over the Atlantic Ocean that gave woman more courage to become pilots if they wanted to.

This book was fantastic I wouldn’t change anything about this book because it has great pictures and it is different than most stories.I would recommend this book to any reader that would love to read a great book this book tells you so much more than what you probably knew about women who changed the world. I really enjoyed “Amelia to Zora” because I learned a lot more about women who changed the world.I also liked it because of it’s illustrations I’ve never seen such great illustrations and I  think it deserves an award for illustrations. So if you have not read “Amelia to Zora” my best suggestion is that you read it because you don’t want miss out on such a great book.

My Spectacular Experience at the Springs Preserve

Posted by valiant13 in Uncategorized

I never thought I would ever have such a spectacular experience in my life. Not only was this experience spectacular but I learned a few things and had a great time. I’m going to tell you about my spectacular experience  at the Springs Preserve with my classmates and our chaperons.

My first thought of the Springs Preserve was “Wow ,I bet this place is  like some coolmuseum.” I soon figured out that this was a coolmuseum it was more than that it was history of Las Vegas and Nevada. We started to walk up a trail to get to the Origen Experience I felt like a mountain climber. Faster than I had imagined we were at the Origen Experience and as soon as I had walked in there  I was amazed. We got into our groups, we had one chaperon per group and about five kids per group we also had a clipboard with two sheets of paper that had questions on the sheets of paper and a note book ,all the materials for each group.

The first thing we did was we watched  video of how the spring in Las Vegas was formed and how the springs condensed and how and why the water condensed. After we finished watching the video about the spring we went to the art gallery at the art gallery we answered some questions that were on the sheets of paper that we received. After we finished some questions we walked to an area where there was different activities.  From there we moved on to go see some adventurous and exciting things.

The next thing I knew we were at the best place in all the Springs Preserve I felt like I was in nature we really didn’t pay much attention to everything until we all saw a sign that read Flash Flood and 2:45 sec. left to start. We all were confused about what it was so we went in anyway. After two minutes forty-five seconds passed we started to watch a video and there was a guy and a girl talking about floods and other things. All of a sudden a flash of lightning struck the mountain of  rocks and splash a flash flood started to come down . Luckily we  were on a platform. After the flash flood was over we left and we answered some questions and moved along. We learned that flash floods used to happen every once in a while in Las Vegas. It was all so interesting I learned and had fun at the same time!

After that we went to a mini train and saw some experiences of the old Las Vegas.(the train wasn’t a real train) Then there was a place where ll we did was answer questions and look at animals and I liked learning about how the animals adapted to their habbitats.I think that the best part of all was answering the question about the animals. There was a Joshua Tree that prevents deserts from running out of water.

So I told you all about my spectacular experience at the Springs Preserve. Now it’s time for you all to experience what I experienced at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas,Nevada if you are ever in Las Vegas Nevada.
